Ben Spigel is a PhD candidate in the Department of Geography at the University of Toronto. He first became interested in geography thanks to a combination of SimCity, Ed Tufte, and The West Wing. He posts updates about his research on his twitter feed.

His dissertation research focuses on how different Canadian regions create different cultures of entrepreneurship. He has interviewed over 100 entrepreneurs in Waterloo, Ottawa, and Calgary. On occasion, he he blogs about his research and other things
